Position Name:  Java Developer

Desired Start:    ASAP

Anticipated End:              12 months contract

BASIC FUNCTION:

Candidate will works closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions.

These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organizations architectural standards. Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget 

Candidate will need to have the knowledge to make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code, if necessary.  

Responsibilities may also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy versus build recommendations.

Has experience in systems analysis, design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1) Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field, or equivalent work experience in a technical capacity.

2) Knowledge of programming/systems analysis experience.

3) Performs routine assignments in the entry level to a professional role

4) Typically requires a college or university degree OR the equivalent work experience that provides knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles and concepts of the software development lifecycle

5) Demonstrated technical, logical, and analytical skills;

6) Ability to communicate effectively; verbally and in writing, with technical, business, and management staff

7) Receives significant instruction, guidance and direction from others

8) Uses existing procedures to solve routine or basic problems

PREFERRED SKILLS

Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills, experience, or education:

1) Computer Science degree.

2) Proficiency in J2EE Technologies, Java, HTML, and JSP;

3) Possesses basic knowledge of XML;

4) Knowledge using the Spring framework for web applications and CVS;

5) Knowledge on Struts, MVC, open source Java frameworks and technologies, such as Apache Common utility, Ant build file, Junit testing.
